  • The regular Xiaomi 14 Ultra has an aluminum frame, but it appears that the brand is planning a titanium version.
  • The strategy is similar to what Xiaomi implemented with the Xiaomi 14 Pro.
  • Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro and the standard Xiaomi 14 may also see a global launch.

Expectations are high, as Xiaomi may release its flagship phone of the year, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, by the end of this month. The brand has been teasing its co-engineering partnership with Leica. And an event at MWC 2024 in Barcelona is scheduled for February 25th. The device could go on sale in China shortly after launch.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra titanium edition with up to 1TB storage

It appears that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will not have a titanium frame as standard across all variants. According to our industry sources, Xiaomi is preparing a titanium special edition for the device. This means that the standard variants of the device will continue to have an aluminum frame to maintain competitive pricing. This is not the first time Xiaomi will release a titanium special edition phone; the brand used a similar strategy with the Xiaomi 14 Pro last year.

Aside from the Xiaomi 14 Pro, the only other Android flagship with a titanium frame is the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. We saw a resurgence in the use of this material following the release of the iPhone 15 Pro. Compared to a metal frame, a titanium frame is more durable and lighter. The weight of smartphones has become an issue as a result of the large camera systems that are now common.

We also anticipate that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be available in three storage variants in China.

Instead of a 24GB RAM module, as seen in other recent Chinese device launches, including the Redmi K70 Pro, Xiaomi has chosen a more reasonable 16GB RAM module with storage options of 512GB or 1TB. Furthermore, a base 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant will be available.

Based on previous leaks, we expect the Xiaomi 14 Ultra to be released in India as well. The device’s global debut at MWC indicates that the Chinese brand hopes to increase the global presence of its flagship this time around. The device is also expected to be accompanied by the standard Xiaomi 14 for a global launch. while the Xiaomi 14 Pro may remain a China-exclusive model. Along with these phones, the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro will be the brand’s flagship tablet, featuring a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
