AP News: Due to a variety of political factors, the number of flights from Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, and Vizag to different locations has significantly decreased during the past five years.

Airports in our state are expected to see significant growth now that Naidu is back in power following the recent assembly elections and that TDP MP Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu has been given the cabinet portfolio of civil aviation.’

Additionally, there will be a sharp increase in the services offered for various locations. The restart of flights between Vijayawada and Mumbai is one such recent development.

After four years, aircraft services between Vijayawada and Mumbai will restart this evening. This is the result of a protracted pursuit by Machilipatnam MP Balasouri, who left the YSRCP and joined Janasena, winning the most recent Loksabha elections.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, operations along this route were halted in 2020. Resuming services between Vijayawada and Mumbai was a goal that Balasouri took on a long time ago and persistently worked towards. After a recent shift in the administration, they have finally become profitable, and the activities are ready to resume.

Today at 17:15 hours, an Air India aircraft from Mumbai will arrive in Vijayawada, where it will be greeted by airport personnel with a water fountain. A cake ceremony will take place in the terminal building after this.

Special guests at this occasion will be MPs Kesineni Chinni of Vijayawada and Balasouri of Machilipatnam. The passengers’ boarding tickets will be given out by both MPs. Every day at 19:10 hours, the planned flight from Vijayawada will take off.

The resumption of this service will allow traders from Vijayawada and nearby areas to travel to Mumbai daily, considering it is a hub for numerous businesses. The new service presents several opportunities for business travelers due to the frequent trade activities in Mumbai.
