Bharat Ratna Award: LK Advani, a seasoned Indian politician and a pivotal figure in the BJP’s journey to prominence, is poised to receive the prestigious Bharat Ratna award. Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially confirmed this news through social media just a few minutes ago.
Modi has disclosed that he informed Advani about the decision to him the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor. In a tweet, Modi expressed his joy, stating, “I am very pleased to announce that Shri LK Advani Ji will be honored with the Bharat Ratna. I had a conversation with him, extending my heartfelt congratulations on this well-deserved recognition. As one of the most respected statesmen of our times, his monumental contributions to the development of India are truly noteworthy.”
For those unfamiliar, Advani was born in Karachi, Pakistan, and his family moved to India after the partition. Joining the BJP’s parent group, the RSS, at the age of 14 in 1941, he entered the Lok Sabha in 1989. Subsequently, in 1999, he attained the distinguished positions of Minister of Home Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister. Having already been honored with the Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian award, he is poised to receive the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian recognition in India.
