YS Sharmila does not require an introduction. She is the daughter of former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy and the sister of current Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Sharmila, on the other hand, has pursued an independent political career and even founded her own political outfit, the YSR Telangana party. She even went on a long padayatra in Telangana and fought former Chief Minister KCR and the BRS. While she was supposed to run in the Telangana Assembly elections, she avoided the race to support the Congress party. The Congress came out on top, defeating KCR.
Since then, there have been strong rumors that YS Sharmila would merge her party with the Congress and join it.
The fact that Sharmila will lead the Congress party in the AP is now largely confirmed. It has been gathered that she will become the president of the AP Congress, and the major announcement is expected to be made today.
Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, the Mangalagiri MLA who recently resigned from the YSRCP and his MLA seat and is a fervent supporter of the YSR family, is expected to join Congress alongside YS Sharmila. It is anticipated that this action will upend AP politics. Political observers predict that this could cause CM YS Jagan and his YSRCP problems in the upcoming elections. Jana Sena and the TDP have already declared their alliance for the upcoming general elections.
