Vladimir Putin: As he expressed excitement about further enhancing the unique connection between the two countries, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated President Vladimir Putin on his victory in Monday’s presidential election in Russia.

Even though the outcome was inevitable, Putin won the election with a resounding majority. Russia’s Central Election Commission announced on Monday that he had received 87.3% of the vote, with a record turnout of 77.5%.

Modi wishes to Putin

Modi wrote on X (Twitter), Warm congratulations to H.E. Mr. Vladimir Putin has been re-elected as the President of the Russian Federation

We anticipate collaborating to enhance the well-established Special & Privileged Strategic Partnership between Russia and India in the upcoming years,” he continued.

Putin’s nearest rival, Communist Party candidate Nikolay Kharitonov, received only 4.3% of the votes cast.

Putin has dominated Russia since the turn of the century, and the election result will strengthen his hold on the country’s government. He will now likely hold the position for at least 2030, making him the longest-serving head of state in Russia since Soviet tyrant Joseph Stalin.

Speaking on Sunday at his election headquarters, Putin stated that Russia still has many tasks ahead” and that the results “consolidated” national unity.

Putin stated, Throughout history, despite any efforts to intimidate or suppress us, our collective will and consciousness have remained resilient. Such attempts have never succeeded in the past, nor will they now or in the future.
