UPSC: The prestigious UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024 prelims exam has been postponed. There have been changes in the dates of the preliminary examination (prelims) in the wake of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections across the country. To this extent, an announcement was issued on Tuesday (March 20) rescheduling the exam. According to the previous announcement, the prelim exam will be held on May 26.

To this extent, an announcement was issued on Tuesday (March 20) rescheduling the exam. It is known that the commission has announced that the prelims exam will be held on May 26 as per the previous announcement. UPSC postponed the preliminary exam to June 16 after changing the date. Also, the UPSC civils exam has been postponed as well as the Indian Forest Service exam. The date of this examination has also been postponed from May 26 to June 16.
UPSC Civil Services 2024 Postponed New Date Announcement
After the Election Commission announced last Saturday that the 18th Lok Sabha elections will be held from April 19 to June 1, the examination timetable has been rescheduled. The Commission has decided to postpone the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination – 2024 because of the upcoming general election schedule. The Commission has issued an official notification that along with the Civil Services (Preliminary) examination, the Indian Forest Service Examination 2024 screening test date has also been postponed from May 26, 2024, to June 16, 2024.
Whereas the UPSC IAS and IPS preliminary written exams will be conducted in two shifts. General Studies in the morning shift and Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) in the afternoon shift. The General Studies paper is scheduled for the morning session from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and the afternoon session from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Prelims admit cards will be released by the commission at least 10 days before the exam. Candidates have the opportunity to acquire their UPSC Prelims Hall Ticket 2024 through the official website upsc.gov.in.

Candidates need to enter their registration number, roll number, or date of birth to download the admit card. This year UPSC announced a total of 1056 vacancies for the CSE exam and 150 vacancies for the Indian Forest Service (IFoS). The selection process is in three stages. Prelims, Mains, Personality Test. The preliminary exam consists of objective-type questions. Candidates who score more than the cutoff marks will qualify for the main exam in 2024. The UPSC Civils Main Exams will be held for five days from September 20.
