Pune Porsche crash: In a fresh twist in the Pune Porsche automobile accident case, police have detained a peon from Sassoon General Hospital. He allegedly took a bribe of ₹3 lakh meant for two senior physicians who changed the juvenile driver’s blood samples with another person’s samples that showed no indications of alcohol. News18 stated that the Pune Police’s Crime Branch recovered ₹3 lakh cash on Monday.
Earlier on Monday, the Pune Police took the chief medical officer, Dr. Shrihari Halnor, and the director of the forensic medicine department at Sassoon General Hospital, Dr. Ajay Taware, into custody for allegedly falsifying the blood samples of the teen driver. Subsequently, Atul Ghatkamble, the hospital peon employed by Dr.Ajay Taware, turned into additionally taken into custody. They were remanded to police custody until May 30.
Two young IT professionals were killed when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding Porsche purportedly driven by a minor kid in the early hours of May 19 in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar district. Police believe the 17-year-old was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

- The state-run Sassoon Hospital’s two doctors were arrested on Monday, and the Pune Police suspect that money transactions in the form of “kickbacks” occurred when the juvenile driver’s original blood sample was replaced with another person’s sample in the Porsche vehicle crash.
- During a press conference on Monday, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar stated that the blood samples of the young driver were disposed of in a garbage and substituted with those of an other individual.
- While the prosecution requested ten days in prison, Drs. Ajay Taware, Shrihari Halnor, and Atul Ghatkamble were placed under judicial magistrate first class (minor causes) court supervision and kept in police custody until May 30.
- The prosecution said that the minor’s father, realtor Vishal Agarwal, had contacted a doctor and requested that the blood samples be changed. The authorities intended to find out who else had given the go-ahead to alter the samples, it was stated.
- The Pune Police have amended the initial offense against the minor in the Porsche crash case to include sections 201, 120-B, 467, 213, and 214 of the Indian Penal Code.
- In other news, a judge granted the police permission to arrest Vishal Agarwal from the Yerwada Central Jail concerning his driver’s kidnapping and unjustified detention. To do a technical examination of the high-end vehicle involved in the collision, a group of Porsche representatives visited the Yerwada police station on Monday.
- “The investigation also revealed that the juvenile’s father had called Dr. Ajay Taware, offering inducements to replace the blood samples,” stated Amitesh Kumar. Another police official from the crime branch told news agency PTI that the juvenile’s father had made multiple calls to Dr. Taware.
- The Pune Police Commissioner stated that the tampering of the blood sample was discovered after another sample of the juvenile taken for DNA testing was transferred to another facility. Police are now recovering CCTV camera and DVR footage from the Sassoon General Hospital to determine who came to visit the accused doctors.
- Earlier, the teenager involved in the Porsche crash case was granted bail by the juvenile justice board, which also required him to write a 300-word essay on road accidents. Nevertheless, in response to public outrage and a review application by the police, he was placed in an observation home until June 5.
- Earlier reports claimed that the Pune teenager had tested negative for alcohol. However, CCTV footage from one of the bars he visited that night allegedly showed him drinking with friends.
