Mamata Banerjee, the leader of the Trinamool Congress, was taken to the hospital on Thursday after suffering a fall near her residence. She was hospitalized at the state-run SSKM hospital following a forehead injury.
Mamata Banerjee was in the hospital with a gash on her forehead, according to pictures posted on the party’s social media page.
The Chief Minister came to our hospital yesterday night at around 7.30 p.m. with a history of falling near her residence due to a push from behind. She had a cerebral concussion and had a deep gash on her forehead and nose that was bleeding heavily,” stated Dr. Manimoy Banerjee, Director of SSKM Hospital.
She was later transported to her home after receiving sutures on her forehead. Mamata was accompanied by her nephew and TMC leader, Abhishek Banerjee.
Mamata Banerjee had a leg injury in June of last year when bad weather forced her helicopter to make an emergency landing at Sevoke Airbase, close to Siliguri. Her left hip and left knee joints both suffered ligament damage.
She had another injury to her left leg when traveling in Spain a few months later, in September. Subsequently, the chief minister of West Bengal declared that an infection had grown on her damaged leg.
Leaders want swift recovery.
Political leaders wished Mamata Banerjee a fast recovery shortly after the Trinamool Congress published images of her in the hospital with a forehead injury.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi prayed for Mamata Didi’s speedy recovery and the best health in a message on X (Twitter).
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor responded to the images, expressing his shock upon seeing them. He conveyed his well wishes for a speedy and full recovery to the West Bengal Chief Minister.
Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, also wished Mamata Banerjee a fast recovery.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also conveyed similar sentiments, extending his wishes for her swift recovery. He wrote on X(Twitter), “Wishing you a speedy recovery, Didi. May God bless you.”
Alongside conveying his deep concern, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed his solidarity, stating, “My thoughts are with her in this challenging moment, and I hope for her swift recovery.

Mehbooba Mufti, the leader of the PDP and a former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, expressed her “distress” upon seeing images of Mamata Banerjee hurt and asked for prayers for a quick recovery.
