All previous records will now not only be broken but also shattered at a really frenzied speed, as the second weekend of Jawan saw a huge push. The question of how much further the Hindi version of the Atlee-directed movie will go toward the 500 crore threshold arose last week when the weekday collections dropped to the 20 to 30 crore area.
However, a record-breaking second weekend means that all previous records are now destined to be broken because the movie has not only held up well but has also generated far more momentum.
Jawan surpasses Lifetime KGF, This is clearly demonstrated by the fact that KGF: Chapter 2, which was launched last year and became the largest success following the pandemic, smashed yet another enormous record. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer has already eclipsed the 434.70 crores that the Yash starrer amassed over the course of its career in just 12 days. While the Prashant Neel-directed action drama was a tremendous hit and the industry’s savior last year, 2023 belongs by a wide margin to Shah Rukh Khan. Both movies were non-holiday releases.
The record could have actually been broken in just 11 days, but Jawan fell short by a few crores. Despite this, the Hindi edition has already amassed 443.44 crores*, which means that the sales have advanced significantly.
This was all made possible by an additional 13 crores* that arrived on Monday. Given that the Hindi version’s Friday collections were 19.10 crores, this is a great hold. While it was expected that the 10 crore threshold would be easily reached on Monday, a few more crores will help make this a very successful week.
