HanuMan is already in its third week, and the goal is to get as much mileage as possible.
HanuMan experienced its regular Sunday gain of 1.60 crores. After the film grossed 1.85 crores on Republic Day, it was expected that if the trend maintained throughout the weekend, the 2 crore record would be broken all over again. That did not happen, however, as collections fell as projected on Saturday, and they did not increase on Sunday.
In any case, the video is now in its third week, and the goal is to gather as much mileage as possible. Where it has gotten to thus far is no minor effort, and the creators may at least plan on making this a franchise in the coming years. Prasanth Verma has already announced Jai Hanuman for 2025, and while it will undoubtedly open well across India, it will face competition from Kantara 2, which follows in the footsteps of Kantara, which surprised everyone with its superb collections despite being made on a shoestring budget.
However, although Kantara 2 grossed 85 crores in Hindi, HanuMan will fall well short, earning only 50 crores or such. The film is already earning 44.40 crores, and its next challenge will arrive on February 9th, when Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam and Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya visit theaters.
