Following a meeting with student representatives, the institute announced that they would take the Ministry of Education up on the idea of a closed campus.

The institute shall actively pursue with the Ministry of Education and the University administration for the creation of a closed campus with restricted entry, according to a statement released by the BHU Registrar.

The registrar also announced that additional CCTVs will soon be placed on campus and that security has been tightened.

According to the institute, there will be restrictions on student movement from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

According to the woman’s complaint, she was allegedly assaulted while out with a friend on Wednesday night. They were near the Karman Baba temple when three men on motorcycles arrived and forcibly took her to a corner, gagged her, and separated her from her friend.

The accused then stripped the woman, videotaped her, and photographed her. According to the complaint, they let her go after 15 minutes and took her phone number.

Police have stated that they are conducting an investigation and are also collaborating with the university administration to ensure campus safety.
