Anurag Thakur, the Union I&B Minister, stated that “around 10,000 new electric buses will be provided across the country” as a result of the program.
Anurag Thakur, the minister of information and broadcasting, announced at a press conference on August 16 that the PM e-Bus Seva Scheme has received approval from the Union Cabinet. The initiative has received a budget of Rs 57,613 crore in total.
The state governments will cover the remaining Rs 20,000 crore, with funding from the center providing the remaining Rs 20,000 crore.
According to Thakur, “around 10,000 new electric buses will be provided across the country” as a result of the program, he told reporters in New Delhi. A total of 100 cities would receive the buses, he said.
