Telangana News: The train station functions as the ultimate stop for trains. Although the train was intended to halt before reaching its destination, it exceeded the planned stopping point. At least five people were injured when three coaches of the Charminar Express train derailed at Nampally Railway Station in Telangana’s Hyderabad on Wednesday. Rakesh, the South Central Railway’s chief public relations officer, confirmed that the incident occurred around 9:15 a.m.

“The railway station is a terminus station for trains. The train should have come to a stop before the end. However, the train overshot. During the incident, three coaches of the train derailed. The incident resulted in minor injuries to about five people who were standing near the train doors. “They are being treated at the railway hospital,” Rakesh said. The Hyderabad Deccan railway station stands as the conclusive endpoint for the train’s journey. Statements from South Central Railway officials reveal that as the train approached the station, it maintained a leisurely pace, inadvertently surpassing the intended stopping position. This deviation led to the derailment of three specific coaches—S2, S3, and S6.

Six passengers sustained injuries due to the jolt resulting from this derailment, as reported by officials to the news agency PTI. According to a South Central Railway (SCR) official, the injured passengers are currently undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital. The train, having commenced its journey from Chennai on Tuesday evening, arrived in Hyderabad. – Telangana News

The official further stated that a thorough investigation would be carried out to determine the root cause of the incident.
