Tamilisai Soundararajan: Telangana’s former Governor and Tamil Nadu BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan dismissed rumors about a viral video showing Union Home Minister Amit Shah seemingly reprimanding her. She clarified that Shah had actually advised her to “focus more on political and constituency work.”

Speculations emerged on Wednesday following the circulation of an 11-second video from TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu’s swearing-in ceremony, which went viral on social media. In the video, Amit Shah can be seen speaking energetically to Soundararajan while gesturing with his finger.

In a Thursday evening post on X, Soundararajan, the ex-Governor of Telangana, mentioned that she met Amit Shah for the first time after the Lok Sabha poll results were announced. She clarified that their discussion revolved around “post-poll follow-up.”

This occurs in the midst of the BJP unit in Tamil Nadu rumors of an internal party conflict. When reporters questioned Soundararajan about the supposed division in the party after her meeting with Amit Shah on Wednesday, she declined to comment.

Speculation was heightened by her claimed remarks about “criminal elements” in the BJP, as well as her claim that “the party would have won had there been an alliance with the AIADMK.” Speaking on a YouTube channel, Tamilisai stated, “I used to discourage and ignore anti-social elements in the party.” However, several of these components have recently joined the party and now hold positions in some districts. Such tactics should be avoided, and regular cadres who work hard for the party should be given their due space. That does not imply that I think Annamalai is a horrible leader. “No, different leaders make different decisions.”

Regarding the alliance problem, she added, “We are proud of the rise in vote share, with our candidates pushing AIADMK to third place in 12 seats and forcing them to forfeit their deposits in numerous seats. However, all of these numbers will be debated until a few days after the polls. Winning is vital. We cannot move forward without winning the election. We may be employed by them for five years if we win the election. So being a people’s spokesperson is critical. There is nothing wrong with forming a strong alliance to assist you get there.”
