Nine people were attempting to save an animal that had fallen into the well on Thursday afternoon when it caved in.-Jharkhand Well Part Collapses
On Thursday, a piece of a well in a hamlet in Jharkhand’s Ranchi district collapsed in, leaving five people dead and one person stranded. The event allegedly occurred in the town of Piska, which is around 70 kilometers from Ranchi, the state’s capital, according to PTI.
Nine individuals were attempting to save an animal that had fallen down the well when it collapsed. The precise number of fatalities is yet undetermined. Five people were first thought to be trapped in the well and one was initially confirmed dead.
Rescue operations are being undertaken by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
The incident occurred in the afternoon after an animal fell into the well. In an attempt to rescue the animal, nine people went inside the well. Meanwhile, a portion of the well caved in, Ranchi SP (Rural) H B Jama reportedly told PTI.
This comes just days after four people were killed in a bus accident in Giridh and 23 people were injured. The bus was on its way from Ranchi to Giridih. It plunged into the Barkar river in Jharkhand’s Giridih.
