India and China: The Indian delegation was led by the Joint Secretary (East Asia) from the MEA, while the Chinese delegation was headed by the Director General of the Boundary and Oceanic Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as stated in the announcement.
The Ministry of External Affairs announced that the 29th meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs took place, during which both sides engaged in extensive discussions on achieving “complete disengagement” and addressing the remaining issues along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
The pivotal meeting took place in Beijing on March 27, as stated in the announcement.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), both parties engaged in a comprehensive exchange of perspectives regarding the methods to achieve full disengagement and address the outstanding matters along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Western Sector of the India-China border regions.

The statement highlighted that during this interim period, both sides reached an agreement to sustain regular communication through diplomatic and military channels. Additionally, they emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and tranquility on the ground in the border areas, by existing bilateral agreements and protocols.
