On Wednesday, shocking scenes occurred in the Lok Sabha when Sagar Sharma jumped from the visitors’ gallery into the chamber. He jumped from desk to desk, holding a yellow smoke canister in his hand. The other intruder, D Manoranjan, opened a smoke canister as MPs overpowered him. He, too, was apprehended.
The breach occurred 22 years after a terror attack on the old building killed nine people, including eight security personnel.
