According to the party’s manifesto
- Congress will conduct a national socio-economic caste census to count castes, sub-castes, and their socioeconomic status. Based on the facts, the party stated that it would strengthen affirmative action policies.
- The party assures that it will enact a constitutional amendment to increase the current 50 percent limit on reservations for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.
- A 10 percent reservation in jobs and educational institutions for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) will be implemented across all castes and communities, without any form of discrimination.
- The party commits to filling all outstanding vacancies in positions reserved for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes within one year.
- The Legislature would eliminate contracting from regular jobs in federal and state agencies and ensure regular appointments of such persons.
