Nirmala Sitharaman allocated 3 lakh crores to women in the central budget

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget in Parliament, emphasizing substantial support for women and girls. She announced an allocation of ₹3 lakh crores to benefit women collectively. To enhance women’s participation in the workforce, the Union Government plans to establish hostels for working women.

The budget also prioritizes employability, skill development, MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises), and the middle class.Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted that the government will focus on these sectors to benefit the country’s 4.1 crore youth, with an allocation of ₹2 lakh crores in the coming days. Additionally, around 30 lakh young people entering the job market will receive one month’s Provident Fund contribution from the government.

The new budget includes measures to reduce the prices of gold, silver, and smartphones. The Center has decided to reduce customs duty on cell phones by 15 percent, which is expected to lower their prices. Additionally, the tax on leather products will be reduced. In a significant move, the government has decided to remove GST on three cancer drugs and reduce GST on X-ray machines. Moreover, customs duty will be reduced on 25 types of key minerals and solar products.

This year’s Union budget totals ₹32.07 lakh crores, reflecting a comprehensive approach to addressing the needs of various sectors and demographics. The emphasis on women’s welfare, youth employment, and cost reductions on essential goods and services highlights the government’s commitment to inclusive economic growth and support for different segments of the population.
