News agency ANI reported that the Delhi Legislative Assembly is likely to discuss the Manipur issue in Parliament today. MLAs Durgesh Pathak, Vinay Mishra and Kuldeep Kumar initiate a discussion on the riots in Manipur and the atrocities faced by the people there.
29 women out of 53 CBI officers who investigated Manipur violence cases
In a major mobilization, the CBI on Wednesday deployed 53 officers, including 29 women, from its units across the country to investigate the violence in Manipur, news agency PTI reported. The team, comprising three DIGs – Lovely Katiyar, Nirmala Devi and Mohit Gupta – and Superintendent of Police Rajveer will report to Joint Director Ghanshyam Upadhyay, who will oversee the overall investigation, they said. They said this was a first-of-its-kind mobilization where such a large number of women officers were immediately pressed into service, PTI reported.
