Telangana’s Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao who is popularly known as KTR has served a legal notice to Union Minister Bandi Sanjay to tender an apology over alleged defamatory remarks against him. Since Sanjay did not respond within twenty-four hours to my invitation to make a statement, KTR added that legal action would be taken if an unconditional apology was not issued within one week. According to the notice, through his comments, Bandi Sanjay has inflicted significant damage to KTR’s image and persona.
KTR Denounces Drug Allegations and Phone Tapping Claims
KTR’s legal notice directly challenges Bandi Sanjay’s comments accusing him of drug use, phone tapping, and secret meetings with Telangana Congress leader Revanth Reddy to avoid legal troubles. On October 19, Bandi Sanjay publicly alleged that KTR was involved in drug-related activities and had misused his political power for phone tapping while BRS was in office.

KTR threatened that he would serve a defamation notice to Sanjay and would also file a criminal complaint against Sanjay. ‘Cease from making baseless comments on social media or face a legal action to asserting the slander cases,’ KTR fired in the notice.
KTR further challenged Bandi Sanjay to provide proof for his allegations. He demanded Sanjay either substantiate his claims or face accountability for spreading falsehoods. “Your baseless accusations not only insult me but also mislead the public,” KTR emphasized, accusing Sanjay of attempting to misguide the people of Telangana for political gain.

“Baseless remarks from a person in a responsible position carry significant weight and create misunderstandings,” KTR said. He added that such deliberate defamation damages his public image, especially after serving the people of Telangana as an MLA for five terms and a minister for nine years.

According to KTR, the repeated attempts to malign his character are not new. “For years, Bandi Sanjay has made similar baseless accusations against me to smear my image because they lack the political strength to confront me directly,” KTR stated.
He thinks it is a conspiracy to demoralize him and bring his political career to a halt instead of serving to correct the ills of society. KTR said that the opposition party aims to defame him as a minister through what he described as an orchestrated campaign of lying through their tongue Loose Women without any substantiation for the accusations. ”This is pure witch-hunting to soil my name for political reasons,” he said.
