The richest woman in the country Savitri Jindal is contesting in the assembly elections. Which party is she representing?
Savitri Jindal the known richest female personality of India is getting prepared to enter into the Haryana assembly elections. Haying not opted to join any of the political parties yet, Jindal has opted to be an independent candidate. This strategic move comes in the wake of The BJP’s released list of candidates for 67 assembly seats among them hissar. The BJP has put up its Health Minister, Dr. Kamal Gupta as its candidate for Hissar. Gupta who had been an MLA for this constituency twice is the chosen one of the party.
Desire for BJP Ticket and Supporter Pressure
Earlier, Smt Savitri Jindal had great desire to get BJP ticket for the Hisar constituency only. But releasing the BJP candidate list, in which Jindal was missing she called for a meeting at her official residence in Jindal Chowk on 5th September morning. From this meeting, there was a lot of pressure on her EPS especially by her supporters to engage herself in an election. Instead of demeaning their feelings, Jindal decided to contest the elections as an independent candidate for Hisar seat.
Clarification on Political Alignments
In her announcement, Jindal was very clear that though she was not part of BJP, she campaigned for her son Naveen Jindal, BJP MP Kurukshetra during the election. She also campaigned for Ranjit Singh Chautala in Hisar also. Jindal made it clear that indeed she has no grudges against BJP and thanked the top leadership of the party for their decisions.
She highlighted this election as the last chance for her to talk and work upon the developmental projects on going in Hisar. On the one hand, Jindal pointed out positive trends that have been observed during the BJP’s rule, on the other, he continued the discussion with the statement that there is more work to be done.

Savitri Jindal’s estimated asset for August 21, 2011 is $ 39 billions. 5 billion. She and her family are some of the biggest names in the industrial world and have their investments in industries across the globe. Her son, Naveen Jindal, has become the Member of Parliamentary for the Kurukshetra and his presence keeps on maintaining the dominance of the family in politics of India.
