Pawan Kalyan praised CM Revanth Reddy for his excellent work

In the recent utterances, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan commended Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for applying several efficient acts in protecting the government lands and water bodies. Delhi Vijayawada floods due to Budameru river citing Pawan Kalyan addressed all the initiatives are being taken by the Telangana government to stop the encroachment and protecting the public assets.

He also stressed on the Hydra project launched by Revanth Reddy that aims at protecting the government land, ponds, water bodies from being occupied. Pawan Kalyan said this as unique and an effort which others should emulate.

Illegal Constructions and Their Role in Exacerbating Flooding

Pawan Kalyan pointed at the negative effects of abettors to the constructions in affecting natural disasters; He stated that floods such as events witnessed in Vijayawada could have been prevented if there were adequate measures put in place. He apprehend pointed that on the whole the Hydra initiative of Revanth Reddy was good in some way that it prevented illegal land grabs and encroachment which anyway leads to environmental and infrastructural issues. Pawan Kalyan stressed the need for stricter regulatory measures to combat unlawful constructions. He recommended that preventive actions be taken before illegal construction begins, particularly those violating land-use regulations. The Deputy CM suggested that illegal structures, especially those built within restricted zones like Full Tank Levels (FTL) and buffer zones, should be demolished. However, he also mentioned that compensation should be provided to the affected parties to ensure fairness in the process.

Importance of Proactive Oversight

So the planning stages of any construction or bureaucratic and over-legalistic than the stages of construction or building, as observed by Pawan Kalyan. He said that passiveness during construction phase facilitates problem amplification especially in the flood-prone areas.

This is because encroachment and unauthorized development enforce blockage and water flow disruption thus causing disasters. Pawan Kalyan advised the government to consciously engage according to the legal provision so as to avoid repetition of such disaster prone construction business in the future.

Criticism of the Current Government’s Handling of Illegal Constructions

He emphasised the requirement of overhauling and enhancing the current bureaucratic framework with respect to the issues of encroachments.

Budameru River Floods and Encroachment

Far in his speech, Pawan Kalyan discussed the recent floods happened at Vijayawada and blamed the encroachments on the Budameru river. The Deputy CM said that these were some of the factors that led to the flooding and if there was proper supervision and legal actions towards the squatters, then the tragedy could have been averted.

Thus, Pawan Kalyan compared the present government with the past government and appreciated Chandrababu Naidu the former Chief Minister of the state for effectively managing like situation. He then heaped compliments on Naidu, saying that he is never passive during a tragedy even he is in his old age now. The deputy CM pointed out the commitment of Naidu when, she informed the house that, he is hands on in operations by using tractors and JCBs to access the affected regions during calamities such as floods etc.

Criticism of YSR Congress Party (YCP) and Call for Action

While attacking the YSR Congress Party YCP Pawan Kalyan stated that it was unbecoming of leaders of the YCP to demage the senior and experienced politician like Chandrababu Naidu who has successfully handled the natural calamities. Instead of making political blame games, he made a call to all YCP leaders to volunteer in the relief works. According to the statement of Pawan Kalyan, their assistance will be more helpful for the public than their fierce competition during the crisis.

Call for a Comprehensive Approach to Disaster Management

The issues raised by Pawan Kalyan about the construction and encroachment inthe flood zones including Vijayawada show his concern towards rampage construction. He quoted Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s Hydra procedure and urged for the same in the AP to sort the problems of unauthorised construction and encroachment.

Simultaneously, he says that there is a need to initiate the process of bureaucratic enhancement in order to guarantee proper implementation of regulation, measures.

Lastly, Pawan Kalyan appreciated Chandrababu Naidu’s activities in the wake of the disaster and compared that to the inaction of the YCP.
