NEET-UG Paper Leak Case: The NEET paper leakage case related to admissions in medical education has caused widespread concern across the country. Criticism has been directed at the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the exams. Parents are alleging that their children’s futures are in jeopardy, while student unions and opposition parties are blaming the central government. The opposition is also demanding a parliamentary discussion on this issue.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is probing the sensational NEET paper leakage case and has already made several arrests. Recently, CBI officials arrested a journalist from Jharkhand, Jamaluddin Ansari, on Saturday, and he is currently being interrogated. This follows the arrests of the principal and vice-principal in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, on Friday. The local Oasis School Principal, Ehsanul Haque, who acted as the coordinator for conducting the NEET exam in Hazaribagh, and Vice Principal Imtiaz Alam, who served as the NTA Observer and Coordinator of the examination center at Oasis School, were both arrested after thorough questioning. Additionally, five other individuals from the district are being questioned in connection with the case. Based on the information provided, Jharkhand journalist Jamaluddin Ansari was detained by the authorities.

The CBI has alleged that Jamaluddin Ansari, a journalist, collaborated with the two accused individuals — the principal and vice-principal of the Hazaribagh school, who have already been arrested in connection with the NEET paper leakage case. Additionally, the CBI conducted searches at seven locations in Gujarat related to the same matter, covering districts including Anand, Kheda, Ahmedabad, and Godhra. As of now, six FIRs have been filed in connection with the NEET UG paper leak investigation.

On June 27, the CBI made its initial arrest in the NEET paper leakage case, apprehending two individuals named Ashutosh Kumar and Manish Kumar from Patna. These arrests came after it was discovered that certain exam participants had received the leaked NEET question paper and answer keys. The CBI filed the FIR on June 23, the day following the education ministry’s decision to transfer the investigation of irregularities in the NEET UG examination to a central agency.
