Naveen Patnaik: BJD stalwart and outgoing Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, who served 24 years in office, set a new example with his gracious act by attending the swearing-in ceremony of his successor yesterday. The BJP, which assumed power in Odisha after a prolonged political battle, warmly welcomed Naveen Patnaik on stage, reciprocating his friendly gesture.

It is well known that the BJP defeated Naveen Patnaik’s BJD in the most recent Odisha assembly elections. Mohan Charan Majhi, the chief minister-designate, made the long trip to Naveen’s house to extend an invitation to attend the swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday. With great pleasure, Naveen accepted the offer and set aside the political rivalry that surfaced after the BJP attacked him during the election campaign.

Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has criticized Naveen Patnaik’s policies and commented on his health difficulties. However, Naveen never went beyond and always managed his political ties wisely. He accepted the defeat at the hands of the BJP and resigned as Chief Minister.

Naveen Patnaik was greeted by BJP leaders, and Prime Minister Modi had a lengthy conversation with him on stage, and the camaraderie between the two was a joy to witness for everyone. The videos went viral all across social media, and Naveen Patnaik’s class act has received praise from all sides.

In an era where politics is often dominated by revenge and score-settling among rival politicians, Naveen Patnaik won hearts by attending his successor’s oath-taking ceremony. This serves as an example to former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy. According to sources, Chandrababu Naidu personally called Jagan to invite him to the swearing-in ceremony, but he did not receive a response.
