Hemant Soren, the former chief minister of Jharkhand, was freed

Hemant Soren: The land scam case of Hemant Soren, the former Chief Minister, was granted bail on Friday by the Jharkhand High Court. His party workers met him as soon as he was released from prison.

Together with him when he left the jail were Minister Hafizul Hasan, media advisor Abhishek Prasad “Pintu,” and his wife Kalpana Soren.

Soren was granted parole from the Ranchi PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) special court following the issuance of two personal bonds, each worth Rs 50,000. He was released after the release order was sent to Birsa Munda Central Jail. Basant Soren and Kumar Saurav, the younger brothers of Him, served as his bailors.

The Jharkhand High Court had earlier awarded Hemant Soren bail in the land fraud case. Justice Rongon Mukhopadhyay presided over the hearing and accepted Soren’s bail plea. This decision came after a thorough review of the arguments presented by both the defense and prosecution. The granting of bail allows Hemant Soren to be released from custody while awaiting further legal proceedings in the case.

The ruling issued by Justice Mukhopadhyay stated, “…the petitioner is directed to be released on bail upon furnishing a bail bond of Rs 50,000 with two sureties of the same amount each.”
