Telangana Takes the Lead The Global AI Summit 2024 Marks a Turning Point in Artificial Intelligence Innovation
The Global AI summit 2024 been organized by the government of Telangana started today at Hyderabad International Convention Centre(HICC) on Thursday. Held in the presence of Chief Minister of Telangana State Mr Revanth Reddy, IT Minister of TS Mr Duddilla Sridhar Babu this ceremony is held as the state steps in the leadership role in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) market. The summit underlines the fact that Telangana is set to emerge as the Artificial Intelligence hub of the country and the state’s ambition to spearhead the technological change.
Telangana’s Leadership in the Global AI Revolution
While addressing at the inauguration, the IT Minister of Telangana Duddilla Sridhar Babu was keen to point out that Telangana is not a passive player in the global movement towards AI but is rather at the forefront of the change. ‘Telangana is not only the part of this revolution it is in front of this revolution,’ he said this.
He spoke at length about Telangana’s financial development which has been estimated to be at an annual growth rate of 11%. 3% attaining Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of $ 176 billion. Sridhar Babu added that the Telangana government has already embarked on its plans to turn the region into a trillion-dollar economy by leaning heavily on advanced industries such as AI and other emerging technologies
The Vision of AI City: A Hub for Innovation
It is proposed to establish AI city spread over 200 acres in Telangana near Hyderabad that will act as the R&D center for Artificial Intelligence. This futuristic AI City will be designed to accommodate high performance computing systems, vast numbers of data centres as well as sustainable connectedness to ensure that the state occupies its worthy place in the world’s greatest advancement of AI.
Referring to AI City, the Minister Sridhar Babu said that the innovation center will be one that will help sustain technological capital of the state. Concepts for School of Excellence within the proposed AI city were also announced due to Telangana’s aspirations to develop a human capital that would lead AI revolution.
Temporary Workspace Solutions for AI Companies
So for now the government has made some interim arrangements for the companies that fall under the AI City construction. Shamshabad’s World Trade Center shall consist of 200000 sq ft equipped office space where by the artificial intelligence companies can set their setups in Telangana even before AI City comes into inception. It helps the businesses to provide opportunities to leverage the growth of technology businesses in the Telangana region without any further delay while propelling forward the goal of the state to advance technologically.
Strategic Partnerships: 26 MoUs to Drive AI Growth
In order to fulfil its proponents for an AI assisted economy the Telangana government has entered into 26 MoUs with various private organizations, educational institutions, IT companies, start-ups and non-profit organizations. Such partnerships are valuable for the growth of Telangana’s Artificial Intelligence plan and for cementing its place as one of the leading authorities on the field in India. These are Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and are fusmetered into seven portfolios namely;

These categories represent the foundation of Telangana’s AI strategy, aimed at building a comprehensive and sustainable AI ecosystem.
Compute Infrastructure and Center of Excellence
The Compute Infrastructure category makes sure that Telangana has all the necessities for complex AI systems in terms of infrastructure. There will also be a Center of Excellence that will entail involvement of great specialists from several different fields to develop innovative AI initiatives.
Skilling, Impact Assessment, and Startup Innovation
The state’s skilling initiatives hence aim at preparing the next generation of AI skilled professionals to drive the constantly evolving market. ImpacTe Assessment will also track social and economic effects of AI therefore it will oversee the responsible development of AI for the benefit of society. In addition, Startup Innovation’s goal is to produce innovations; therefore, it offers the necessary resources for developing AI startups.
Focus on Generative AI, Research, and Data Annotation

On the same note, Minister Sridhar Babu also pointed to the need to develop proper AI governance systems.
