CWC adopts a resolution designating Rahul Gandhi as the Lok

CWC: On Saturday, senior Congress leader KC Venugopal announced that the Congress Working Committee has adopted a resolution urging Rahul Gandhi to assume the position of Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.

KC Venugopal stated at a press conference, The CWC unanimously requested Rahul Gandhi to assume the role of Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha… Rahul ji is the most suitable person to lead this campaign within Parliament.

When questioned about Rahul Gandhi’s acceptance of the Leader of the Opposition role in Lok Sabha, Congress General Secretary in charge of the organization, Venugopal, mentioned that a decision would be made very soon.

Venugopal stated that with our leader and workers energized, the Congress revival has commenced. He added that the atmosphere within the CWC is markedly different from what it was four months ago.

Speaking following the CWC meeting, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari expressed, “Certainly, Rahul Gandhi should assume the role of Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha. This turned into the request of our operating committee. He possesses fearlessness and courage.

The CWC resolution commended Rahul Gandhi for his contributions to the election campaign.

The resolution stated that former Congress President Rahul Gandhi deserves special recognition, particularly for his leadership of the Bharat Jodo Yatra and the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. These yatras, reflecting his vision and character, marked significant milestones in our nation’s politics, inspiring hope, and confidence among millions of our workers and voters.

The resolution highlighted that Rahul Gandhi’s election campaign was focused, sharp, and direct. He played a pivotal role in making the protection of our republic’s Constitution the central focus of the 2024 elections. The PaanchNyay-Pachees Guarantee program, which struck a powerful chord during the campaign, stemmed from Rahul ji’s yatras where he listened to the fears, concerns, and aspirations of all sections of society, particularly the youth, women, farmers, workers, Dalits, Adivasis, OBCs, and minorities.

The CWC also recognized the challenges despite the party’s improvement in the Lok Sabha elections.

We have undoubtedly recovered and revitalized, but there’s still a significant distance to cover to regain the prominent position the party once held in the nation’s political landscape. The voice of the Indian people is clear—Congress has been granted another opportunity. It’s now our responsibility to capitalize on it. We must, and we shall.
