Congress criticizes tax: To express their disapproval of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s detention, several INDIA bloc leaders will gather on Sunday at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi.
New Delhi: The Congress tried to corner the BJP on the income tax notice it received yesterday in front of the INDIA bloc’s Loktantra Bachao Rally in Delhi on Saturday. They said the central government intended to destroy the party in preparation for the Lok Sabha polls.
It’s not a rally focused on any one person. The Loktantra Bachao Rally got its name for this reason. This is not a gathering for just one party; roughly 27–28 parties are taking part. The rally will have participation from every member of the INDIA Jan Bandhan, according to Jairam Ramesh.
“This shows the mindset that the prime minister wants to cripple opposition parties politically and financially,” he stated.
According to Congress politician Priyank Kharge, his party would prevail in the Lok Sabha polls.
“The administration made this deliberate decision. The BJP has started operating its frontal ED and IT organization. Congress leader Priyank Kharge responded to the party’s receipt of an income tax notice of ₹1800 crore by saying, “They are trying to cripple the process of democracy and Congress from ensuring a clean sweep (In Lok Sabha elections).”

Arvinder Singh Lovely, the chief of the Delhi Congress, stated that there is no distinction between the BJP government and the British Raj.
“The BJP’s issue is that they speak for everyone while maintaining their central purpose. The largest opposition party in the nation had its finances frozen. Before the elections, they wish to communicate with us through notices. Arvind Kejriwal and Hemant Soren, sitting chief ministers, are detained… This event is called Loktantra Bachao, which means “save the Constitution.” If the opposition parties are under constant attack, what good are elections and democracy? The current administration and British Rule are identical… It’s not news when you get an ED notice. It will be news the day that no notice is received from ED “said the speaker.
According to Congressman DK Shivakumar, the BJP is aware that it will not win the Lok Sabha elections.
“This is a democratic nation. A law is in place. This kind of action and direction coming from the BJP government… They are terrified of the Congress and the INDIA alliance because they are focusing on the opposition. The NDA will be vanquished by the INDIA alliance. The BJP is aware of this vulnerability. They are aware that they won’t win the election. That’s why they’re attempting to instill terror. I also received a notification from IT last night on a matter that has already been resolved,” he stated.
India bloc rally is criticized by the BJP
Bhupendra Chaudhary, the chief of the UP BJP, criticized the INDIA group for its rally in the meantime.
“There is disagreement among these folks over their ideologies. Numerous internal tensions exist. In several states, seat adjustments are still pending. Congress is still unable to determine which candidate will run in Raebareli and Amethi. I’m positive that the Congress has no chance in Uttar Pradesh,” he continued.
Shehzad Poonawalla, a BJP spokeswoman, remarked, “What is this rally? It is simply “Bhrashtachar bachao andolan,” with the slogan “karenge hum bhrashtachar, kahenge isko shishtachar, hum chilayenge atyachar, atyachar” being one possible version.
Additionally, he accused Arvind Kejriwal of corruption.
“Lalu Prasad Yadav, Akhilesh Yadava, and Rahul Gandhi used to support Arvind Kejriwal when he was in jail, asking why they had put him in jail,” he continued. “Arvind Kejriwal used to say that he would put Lalu Yadav, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi in jail because they had done ‘bhrashtachar.'”
Jitan Ram Manjhi, the NDA candidate from Gaya and a BJP ally, National President of Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), attacked the demonstration in the meantime.
“Chor ki Dadhi mein Tinka… A dishonest person starts formulating comments in advance to justify themselves because they wish to hide from the world. We call this ‘Chor Machaye Shor’. Congress is acting like this. Nitish Kumar and PM Modi are on one side, and the Congress hasn’t been able to split the seats yet. He remarked, “They want to blame others for their misdeeds, even though they are the ones facing downfall.”
Who will attend the INDIA bloc rally?
Champai Soren, the chief minister of Jharkhand, Shared Pawar, the leader of the NCP (SP), Tejashwi Yadav of the RJD, Sitaram Yechury, the general secretary of CPI(M), D Raja, Farooq Abdullah, the leader of the National Conference, Mehbooba Mufti, the chief of the PDP, Akhilesh Yadav, the chief of the Samajwadi Party, DMK’s Tiruchi Siva, and Derek O’Brien of the TMC will all be present at the rally.
