The Colorado Supreme Court barred Donald Trump from running as a Republican presidential candidate in the state’s 2024 elections on December 19. According to reports, the judges are now under ‘threat’.

The FBI is looking into threats made against Colorado Supreme Court judges who ruled last week to remove former US President Donald Trump from the state’s ballot.

According to FBI Public Affairs Officer Vikki Migoya, who spoke to CNN, The FBI is aware of the situation and is working with local law enforcement.

We will vigorously pursue investigations of any threat or use of violence committed by someone who uses extremist views to justify their actions regardless of motivation, Migoya said.

The court ruled that Trump is ineligible to run for president, citing clear and convincing evidence that he was engaged in insurrection during the 2021 US Capitol riots.

The order will only apply to the state of Colorado while Trump’s appeal is heard by the United States Supreme Court.

The Denver Police Department will assist the FBI in its investigation. According to the police, they will be providing extra patrols around justice’s residences in Denver and will provide additional safety support if/as requested.

Everything checked out fine, and we’re still looking into this report. We are unable to provide any additional information at this time due to security and privacy concerns, as well as the ongoing investigation, the Denver Police Department said in a statement, as reported by CNN.

The names of the four judges who ruled against Trump have frequently appeared in pro-Trump online forum posts. Some of these posts, which CNN and Fox News have seen, call for the judges to be killed with guns, hangings, or bombs.

Some of the posts also suggest that Trump supporters arm themselves and wage civil war on Democrats.

According to NBC, an analysis by the nonpartisan research nonprofit Advance Democracy found significant violent rhetoric from Trump supporters online against the judges and Democrats following last week’s ruling.

Supporters of then-President Donald Trump stormed the US Capitol in Washington, DC, on January 6, 2021, during the certification of the Electoral College results for the 2020 presidential election. Rioters broke through security, vandalized offices, and clashed with law enforcement.

There were multiple deaths, injuries, and extensive property damage as a result of the violence. Insurgents attempted to overturn the election results, fueled by false claims of widespread voter fraud.
