AP Coalition's Goverment 100-Day Focus on Strategic Reforms

Andhra Pradesh’s newly formed AP Coalition’s Goverment headed by the CM Nara T.Chrudu babu Naidu’s has been working for the exact delivery of its strategic governance plan of 100 days in its regime within two and half months. The government thus has less than a month to achieve their goals out of only 26 days left from this 45 day period that is to end on 22nd September.

Right from the beginning of the session, the Chief Minister was very keen to highlight that all the departments should come out clear with activities and performance in the last one year against what was done by the previous government. This was done in line with the overall objective of the coalition to respond very fast to the expectation of the millions of people residing in the state by virtue the absolute control of the house.

Setting the Stage for Prioritizing Governance Reforms

Since new government assumed office on 12th June, it has declared its intention to make a lot of changes. From the onset of the campaign, there was a line of action as regards these goals to be accomplished in the first 100 days of the campaign. The Chief Minister himself emphasised the neglect of the previous government during the election campaign, which created the basis for the rapid improvement of the situation with the support of members of the coalition.

In this regard, the Andhra Pradesh CM, Chandrababu Naidu gave specific directives to civil servants to come up with and implement 100-day functioning plan towards attaining given targets. To this call all the departments agreed and specified certain goals and put all their efforts into meeting them.

Departmental Initiatives for Proposals and Progress

As the deadline approaches, various state government departments have submitted proposals for priority programs as part of the 100-day plan. These programs align with the key promises made during the election campaign. The AP Coalition’s Goverment has reviewed these proposals, offering suggestions for their implementation to ensure they meet the electorate’s expectations. Since taking office for the fourth time, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has conducted continuous reviews of all departments over the past two months, ensuring that they are on track to meet their goals.

Key Focus Areas on Amaravati, Agriculture, and More

One of the top priorities is the construction of the new capital, Amaravati. The AP Coalition’s Goverment has focused on preventing cannabis cultivation and controlling drug trafficking as key issues. Specific measures include the completion of ongoing construction projects in Amaravati, creating a plan for the capital’s development, and strategizing on how to proceed with government operations. These efforts include a thorough examination of the current status of Amaravati’s construction by teams from IIT Chennai and Hyderabad, with preliminary reports already submitted. The government has started the necessary jungle clearance to ensure construction can begin by December.

In addition to these efforts, the agriculture department is working on providing drip irrigation equipment to farmers at a 90 percent subsidy. The AP Coalition’s Goverment has also declared Visakhapatnam as the financial capital of Andhra Pradesh and prioritized the swift allocation of land for the new railway zone in the city. Other significant initiatives include fee reimbursement payments to colleges to ease the financial burden on parents, the restoration of the construction workers’ welfare board, and the announcement of incentives in the MSME sector. These initiatives are being pursued by the relevant departments as part of the 100-day plan.

Election Promises and Policy Implementation

The AP Coalition’s Goverment agenda also includes the implementation of election promises and the introduction of a free sand policy. A review meeting led by Home Minister Anitha was held soon after the government was formed, where multiple proposals for eradicating cannabis within the first 100 days were discussed and set in motion. Meanwhile, the free sand policy has already been announced by the government as part of its efforts to streamline construction and infrastructure development in the state.

Additional Departmental Initiatives

Several other significant initiatives have been proposed by various departments as part of the 100-day plan. These include:

  • Establishment of New Corporations: The formation of a goldsmiths’ corporation, Noorbasha Corporation, and Ex-Servicemen Welfare Corporation.
  • Infrastructure Development: Completion of Kapu Bhavan constructions and the creation of a Christian Missionaries Property Development Board.
  • Judicial and Social Reforms: Setting up fast-track courts for murder trials, ensuring payment of gratuities to Anganwadi workers, and considering honorarium increases for local government officials.

  • Administrative Reforms: Issuance of permanent caste certificates, naming the Bhogapuram airport after Alluri Seetharamaraju, and establishing gram sabhas in 13,326 panchayats.

Progress and Final Preparations

Most of these initiatives are nearing completion. For instance, gram sabhas have already been conducted in all 13,326 gram panchayats, with resolutions on employment works finalized. The process of forming new corporations is also in its final stages. With only 26 days remaining, the government is gearing up to complete these initiatives and present them as evidence of the significant changes made within its first 100 days.

Conclusion

The AP Coalition’s Goverment has anticipations that it will mark these two achievements on the 100th day with such a proclamation signifying its seriousness in the provision of its pledges as well as the positive impact in the state. This celebration will provide proof to the government’s commitment to make sure that change in Andhra Pradesh is made with the earliest period of its administration in office for one hundred days.
