Deputy CM Pawan will participate in the Village festival in Kankipadu today

The alliance government has very recently started a village festival program to strengthen the Gram Panchayats and the aesthetic sense and physical structure of the villages in the state have undergone a drastic change. Deputy CM Pawan will participate in the Village festival in Kankipadu today. The objective of this policy is to encourage the growth of institutional facilities and improve community participation and delivery of services to the rural populace.

Inauguration in Krishna District

The village festival will kick off in Krishna district, starting from Kankipadu. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan will inaugurate the celebrations on Monday at the TDP office premises in Kankipadu. This festival referred to as the village festival-panchayat week, will be marked by various activities and development projects intended to reshape the villages.

During the inauguration, Pawan Kalyan will lay the foundation for significant infrastructure projects, including Rs. 91 lakh allocated for the construction of 11 cement roads. Additionally, he will initiate the construction of two Gokulas with an investment of Rs. 4.15 lakh and will oversee the foundation stone laying for two cement roads amounting to Rs. 54 lakh. These efforts reflect the government’s commitment to enhancing rural infrastructure and improving the quality of life in these communities.

Development Initiatives and Financial Support

The annual village festival is slated to last a week, for which developmental activities will be held throughout the district. The program is funded by the 15th Finance Commission and the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS). Out of Rs. 1410 crore planned for 21,660 development works under NREGS in the district, Rs. 169 crore has been sanctioned for 2,113 works. Such projects will comprise the laying of cement roads, development of structures for beautification, building of crematoria, public structures, and part-school constructions.

Besides, the infrastructure development, the goal of the initiative is to create an employment opportunity for daily paid workers who are likely to be affected by the project so that wherever possible the money will circulate within the community. Such an emphasis on job generation is anticipated to revive local markets and ensure many households receive steady earnings.
