Amit Shah: In response to Arvind Kejriwal’s suggestion that Narendra Modi would retire at 75 and Amit Shah would assume the prime ministership, Amit Shah clarified that Kejriwal had no cause for celebration over Modi’s age milestone. Shah stressed that there was no provision in the BJP’s constitution preventing Modi from continuing as prime minister, affirming that Modi would indeed serve his full term. He further asserted that there was absolute clarity within the party regarding this matter, dispelling any confusion about his own potential candidacy for the position. This statement was made by Amit Shah during a press conference in Telangana.

Kejriwal delivered his inaugural rally on Saturday, just one day following his release from a 50-day stint in jail. He asserted that casting a vote for Narendra Modi in the 2024 Lok Sabha election would effectively translate to endorsing Amit Shah, given Modi’s impending retirement next year upon reaching the age of 75. Following Modi’s retirement, Amit Shah is slated to assume the role of prime minister.

These individuals question the INDIA bloc about their leadership. I question the BJP about who will lead them as prime minister. Modi ji is approaching his 75th birthday on September 17 next year. He instituted the rule that individuals aged 75 must retire, as seen with LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, and Sumitra Mahajan. Modi himself will reach this retirement age next year. He is soliciting votes to pave the way for Amit Shah to assume the role of prime minister. The question remains: Will Shah uphold Modi ji’s assurances?” Kejriwal remarked.

Kejriwal highlighted that not only are opposition leaders under scrutiny, but also their party counterparts. He emphasized that if the BJP secures power, they intend to replace Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, as the party is seemingly moving towards the concept of ‘one nation, one leader’.

BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi remarked that Kejriwal was discussing the BJP’s succession strategy while expressing his lack of trust in any of his AAP colleagues to follow in his footsteps. Trivedi stated that Kejriwal inadvertently unveiled the truth, likening it to a revelation made by someone under the influence of alcohol, indicating that Modi is poised to triumph in the election.
